The hospitality offered by the Structure are not just limited to the full coverage of basic needs of individuals, large and small, but also includes a package of complementary supporting measures specialized depending on the age group. Centric is the refugee status and their goal the strengthening and empowerment of individuality. These include medical services, training and consulting services focusing on employment, as well as psychological and psychosocial support.
The project is funded by the European economic area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) via the IOM, managing authority of the programme SOAM.
Awareness program involved in immigrant reception.
As part of the effort made by Greece for the best possible reception of foreign immigrants, EADAP in cooperation with the Swiss Embassy, created the “SMALL DICTIONARY” useful to doctors and nurses.
Its objective is to facilitate communication between health professionals and migrants who do not speak the Greek language and arriving every day in every way in Greece.
Aimed at Greek doctors, nursing staff and in general to all staff working in Pediatric Clinics, Shelters and Migrant Reception Centres throughout Greece.
The content is translated into 5 languages: English, French, Arabic, Urdu-Pakistan and Farsi-Afghanistan, languages represent the majority of the immigrant population.
The program includes actions aimed at:
- Acceptance of different cultural identity
- Gaining awareness of the rights of the child
- The creation of the site meeting the parents for the promotion of intercultural coexistence
The activities are based on the personal interests of children and early modern pedagogy and include:
- Psycho motor activities
- Theatrical play
- Construction
- Narratives tales
- Cross-cultural celebrations
* With the active involvement of parents
The “Asylum seekers shelter FUTURE” hosts 60 unaccompanied minors and 14 mothers with young children in separate floors of the same building. Hosted people have all filed for asylum in Greece and in accordance with the relevant legislation in the framework of the international obligations of the country, hosted until the evaluation of their application by competent authorities.
